This one week intensive course was co-organized and co-taught with the Millennium Institute (MI). It took place from April 8th to 13th in Clermont Ferrand. The course introduced Systems Thinking for sustainable development with an explicit focus on the SDGs. Students, junior and senior scientists from diverse academic backgrounds mapped various sustainability issues related to for example the energy and monetary system. They used the qualitative System Dynamics tool of Causal Loop Diagrams (CLDs) to comprehend the main elements and feedbacks of sustainable future system scenarios.

Beyond the classroom the participants engaged in hiking activities, which included interesting discussions, as well as they met to play the board game SDG architect.
